Last week I've been working out. Now my whole body hurts! I thought I could continue with just going with my same routine as last week, but I didn't realize how much rest I really needed. LOL
When I worked on my legs last week,(with light free weights I carry on my hands) I did squats, lunges, wall sits and calve raises. Then, ever since monday , my legs are very very sore! When I walk, it feels like my legs are about to cramp up any sec. Recovery time is something I need to reevaluate in my work out routine. Now I have just been resting more. But this week(starting friday), I will work on my upper body.
As for my diet, I really didn't change much. I usually eat healthy anyway. I don't drink sodas and I don't eat junk food. I just added more protein in my diet.
So an interesting post might be the best way to help your body recover from extreme workouts. I have one friend who is a runner and he ices his legs after his extreme runs (he will run 20+ miles). Can you do some research and provide for us some information on how to correctly cool down and prepare our bodies for such workouts?
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain, but yours sounds a little more extreme. Lifting weights is something I try and stay away from just because it hurts so much afterward. Do you do any running? Maybe that would help you on the days when your not lifting weights. Just remember what Arnold Schwarzenegger says in Pumping Iron, "The last three or four reps is what makes the muscle grow"
