Still working out

If you read my other blogs and commented, I couldn’t respond back because of technical difficulties from my blogger account. But I say thanks for your encouragement and support.

I have been working out HARD now for a couple of weeks. I think it’s paying off.  I played basketball yesterday with my cousins, and realized I was stronger, my endurance lasted longer and my jump went higher than compared to last month. Even though my trip is still a little far, I'm ready for Philippines!

When you really exercise and stay on a good diet, it really has great benefits in life. You can feel more energetic, be more healthy , and also, you can feel like you can take on other challenges in life! I truly recommend to people to exercise and eat healthy. It might seem hard at first (especially if it’s your first time or it’s been awhile) but when you keep going at it and see its results, you will be grateful you did!

Feeling stronger!

This week has been going great! My body was strong starting last Sunday.
So last Monday I worked on my legs doing : squats, lunges, toe raises- all while carrying 25 pound dumbbells for an hour. Wednesday I did upper body pull-workouts: bicep curls, wide pulls with 25-pound dumbbells and pull ups. On Friday I will do push-workouts which are: push ups, shoulder dumbbell lifts- all with my 25 pound dumbbell. Then, basketball on Sat. and Sun.

I like working out. Even though I just need to work on my endurance and game on basketball, I love lifting weights. I feel healthy and strong after doing it. Plus, my cousins who live here in Seattle are very active and competitive. We always have "friendly" competitive matches. Whether it be basketball, football to arm-wrestling. I love it!=)

My body hurts!

Last week I've been working out. Now my whole body hurts! I thought I could continue with just going with my same routine as last week, but I didn't realize how much rest I really needed. LOL

When I worked on my legs last week,(with light free weights I carry on my hands) I did squats, lunges, wall sits and calve raises. Then, ever since monday , my legs are very very sore! When I walk, it feels like my legs are about to cramp up any sec. Recovery time is something I need to reevaluate in my work out routine. Now I have just been resting more. But this week(starting friday), I will work on my upper body.

As for my diet, I really didn't change much. I usually eat healthy anyway. I don't drink sodas and I don't eat junk food. I just added more protein in my diet.

This week

I already started my work out plans for this week. I started working on my upper body( arms and chest) last monday and tuesday. Wednesday I did rest and thursday and friday is lower body( legs, & abs) and sat is rest  and running & basketball practice (to work on my lungs) is this sunday.

I'm pretty sure I can do it. I have been working out already for quite a while now. It's just, this time, I have a goal to reach. My goal which is:
whatever results I have this week I will improve on it for the next weeks.

My weight lifting goals

I will start blogging about my diet & exercise progress. My plan is to strengthen my endurance and my muscle weight. All in preparation for my trip to Philippines this august or november.

Because I am going to join my cousins basketball/sports tournaments over there. My family in Philippines are very active in sports and I want to "keep up" with them because I want to enjoy my time there.
The weather in Philippines is very hot and very humid. Also, many places their have heavy air(meaning air pollution). Playing sports in that condition is very demanding on the body. Having good lungs and strength to endure will be my goal to have now before I get there .
